Q: I need rental equipment, a camera system, and a digital tech or assistant? Where do I start?

A: Happy Rentals essentially offers three services: Pre-Packaged Cargo Van with equipment and assistant, Pre-Packaged Sprinter Van with equipment and assitant, or Capture One Digital Tech w/ Computer Tech Station.

Q: Why rent a packaged equipment vehicle or digital package?

A: After hundreds of photo shoots, we have found that packaging equipment, vehicles, assitants, techs, and digital services together makes for smoother photo shoots and an overall a better rental experience.

Q: What equipment is included in the pre-packaged vans?

A: Ten years of renting and assiting advertising, celebrity, and fashion photographers has led us to have a pretty comprehensive idea of the challenges that can arise on any given shoot. Thus, we have pre-packaged our rental vehicles with more than enough equipment to solve the most complex of lighting challenges, whether it be interior, exterior, or studio settings. Q: What if I want to rent a piece of gear that isn’t included with a package?

A: We are happy to discuss and add any additional equipment needed at standard rental house rates.

Q: How much more gear can I expect to get for the dollar compared to a traditional rental?

A: Over TWICE the gear!!! If you were to individually rent all the gear we currently provide from a typical rental house, you would pay over $2,000 a day without the vehicle.

Q: How does the pricing work?

A: Packaged vehicles start at $850/day. Digital Tech Stations start at $400/day or $900/day with tech. For more detailed pricing information, please see the “Digital, Cargo and Sprinter Van Pages”.

Q: How do you keep your prices so low?

A: Adding the photo assistant/ tech to the rental equation helps both the photographer and the rental company. It makes life easier on the photographer because the assistant knows the ins and outs of the equipment he/she has rented. The assistant or tech also insures that the equipment doesn’t get unnecessarily damaged. This keeps the cost down for both parties.

Q: What are some of the other benefits?

A: There is no longer the burden of picking up and dropping off of equipment to the rental house or camera store. There are no equipment return deadlines or late fees. You have access to twice the gear for the dollar, including the things you didn’t expect you’d need.

Q: Do you offer any weekly rental discounts?

A: Yes. In addition to the savings from renting packaged equipment, we offer a four-day-week on all rentals. You only pay for the first four days of rental in each week (Assistant/ Tech fee is not included in the four-day-week).

Q: Are there any delivery fees?

A: There are NO delivery fees or gas charges as long as the shoot is within Los Angeles County, Orange County, or San Diego County.

Q: Can I rent a packaged van and not hire your assistant or tech?

A: Equipment is only available for rent when accompanied with one of our trained assistants or techs. If this is an issue, let us know, and we will do our best to work out a solution.

Q: Do you charge a deposit?

A: No. We do not charge a deposit, but we do require proof of insurance and a credit card on file.

Q: What are the payment terms?

A: Payments can be made by check or credit card. All payments are expected within 30 days of the invoice date.
